My dream house is a small, old ground-floor house in Amsterdam. The livingroom has lots of shelves full of books and quirky, interesting objects, and there is a massive sofa full of cushions and throws.
One wall is covered in loud wallpaper, with a massive shelf dedicated to my collection of teapots, and one for my records. There is a room intended as a guest bedroom that I will use entirely for my clothes and shoes. The bedroom is the cosiest room in the house, and it has a corner with a table for sewing and general DYI love.
The kitchen has a black and white checker-board floor and is full of weird cute kitchenware. And there is a pastel coloured Smeg fridge. That is genuinly one of the most important things.
There is a tiny garden full of plants and some cute wooden furniture painted in bright colours, and there is even a tree which I will decorate with lights. I will live there either with a good friend or potentially with a yet to be specified future lover.
The perfect life to go with this perfect house would be being a writer/journalist and mostly working from home so I can have enough time to keep it nice (do not tell me this is not feminist, I just really like houses and am choosing entirely independently to dedicate a big part of my life to living in a house)
Of course now that I live in a big student house in bonny Southampton I can't go completely crazy decorating, BUT if I do say so myself I managed to make my room look pretty awesome just by putting my stuff in it:
When I manage to get something resembling this dreamhouse I will change the topic of this blog from 'anything I feel like writing about' to 'confessions of a home decorator-zilla'
(All photos found on Pinterest, except the last 4 which are my own)
